The Atlantic AE team partnered with a long-time client to deliver a first-of-its-kind warehouse and delivery station, code named DII5. Designed as a demonstration building, the facility showcases more than 40 sustainability initiatives, including advanced mass timber construction, low-carbon building materials, state-of-the-art energy and water efficiency systems, and EV charging stations supporting electric delivery vans. The 39-acre DII5 site features mass timber construction in place of traditional concrete and structural steel systems. Additional sustainable features include a high-performance building envelope with lower-carbon insulation and cladding, a rainwater collection system for toilet use, high-efficiency HVAC and plumbing fixtures, energy-efficient lighting and controls, lower-carbon concrete, and a biodiverse, drought-tolerant landscape.
